About the role
The Electrical & Instrumentation Technician will maintain and improve the reliability of electrical and instrumentation systems within an operational industrial site. The role supports safe plant operation by diagnosing faults, reducing downtime, and ensuring compliance with engineering and maintenance standards. The position combines hands-on technical work with inspections, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties
- Maintain electrical and instrumentation systems safely and compliantly
- Diagnose faults using drawings, schematics, and P&IDs
- Reduce plant downtime through proactive improvement initiatives
- Conduct inspections, testing, calibration, and monitoring activities
- Record maintenance activity accurately using a CMMS system
- Support the review of maintenance documents and procedures
Skills & experience
- Electrical & Instrumentation qualification (HNC/ONC or equivalent)
- Completed apprenticeship with 5+ years post-qualification experience
- Experience in manufacturing, chemical, or process environments
- Strong fault-finding and structured problem-solving skills
