Insurance Claims Specialist

Sovereign Insurance Group has spent six decades protecting nonprofits, schools, houses of worship, and middle-market commercial clients. When a loss hits, you become the person who restores operations quickly and fairly. Your work turns disruption into continuity and keeps the relationships our producers and account managers fight to win.

Performance Objectives

  • Investigate, document, and close commercial property and casualty claims so that 90% reach first-notice-to-settlement within 21 days while staying inside coverage and carrier guidelines.
  • Drive client satisfaction scores above 4.7/5 by giving insureds and producers same-day status updates and clear next-step explanations on every open file.
  • Identify coverage gaps or subrogation opportunities on at least 15% of files and convert them into recoveries or risk-improvement recommendations that account managers can present at renewal.
  • Keep loss-run data current in AMS360 and ImageRight so producers never wait more than 48 hours for accurate experience exhibits.
  • Partner with underwriters and account teams to challenge incomplete or inconsistent carrier information, reducing claim-related endorsement delays by 25% within six months.
  • Mentor junior service staff on claims documentation standards so the entire book stays audit-ready and compliant.

Environment & Resources

You report to the Service Team Lead and sit inside a tight-knit commercial lines unit that already uses AMS360, ImageRight, and Microsoft 365. Hybrid work from Berwyn, PA or remote from DE, FL, LA, NJ, PA, SC, TX is available after onboarding. You will have direct carrier contacts, a dedicated travel budget for site visits when needed, and the same benefits package (employer-paid employee health, HSA, 401k match, growing PTO) that our account managers enjoy.

Essential Qualifications

  • Active resident Property & Casualty license and 3+ years handling commercial P&C claims (property, GL, or package) for middle-market or specialty accounts.
  • Proven ability to read policies, interpret loss runs, and explain coverage decisions in plain language to non-insurance clients.
  • Comfort working inside AMS360 or a comparable agency management system; ImageRight experience is a plus.
  • Track record of meeting statutory and carrier reporting deadlines while juggling 40–60 open files.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent insurance-industry experience.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • You stay connected to the full client lifecycle—no hand-off to a distant TPA.
  • Six decades of stability plus double-digit growth means your claims expertise actually shapes how we serve niche markets.
  • Casual, professional team that values long-term contributors over pitch-team turnover.
  • Uncapped opportunity to grow into a claims-practice lead as we expand specialties.
